There are many things you can do at home with the family to increase their financial confidence and experiences with money. Whether you home school or just want an activity over the holidays, check out these ideas.

A simple activity of counting some coins. Many children do not see coins that often so however old your children are this could be a fun activity! You could even add in some maths/change questions for extra challenge!

Helping out at home might be something we forget children can and possibly should do. Think about the tasks age appropriate for your children, what can they do that means they learn and also you get to spend more time together? This can help them develop a good work ethic for their future.

Using a catalogue or shopping magazine, think about making a list of things you would buy.
Younger children may enjoy cutting out the pictures/sticking them, older children could add up the cost of their shopping.

Over the holiday’s think about the things you would like to do that need money and those that can be done for free.
You could draw pictures, find your own or cut out some of ours.

What do we really need?? Think about the things we want and need - maybe have a sort out of toys and donate some to people who have nothing? Remember - Being thankful goes a long way. 😊

What are charities? Perhaps chance to give the children some research on the internet.
You could choose 3 and print off some information they could compare.
What charity would they like to give support to?

Do your children have savings goals?
How about creating a chart to visualise how their saving is going.

Think about the cost of things, especially gifts - perhaps take a notepad to the shop and compare different prices. Or use the internet of course!
